Water:

Have you considered this gift from our Father?

Blood, mostly made of water,

Without it, life would quickly falter.

Blood, the only way God's wrath can alter,

But, think about it; no blood, no altar.

He would send us to a place much hotter, 

But, Jesus' blood is a sin-blotter

By His Roman slaughter,

The Father can make us son and daughters,

Heirs of Christ, not squatters,

Soften me in Your hands, You the Potter,

Works-righteousness, why bother,

My position in you can never totter.

But, please, make me stronger,

Help me to be better than a marauder, 

To not base my worth on the brand of my collar,

To be the Christian I oughta,

To give You all the glory, laud, and honor,

To rip parts of my black heart with an auger,

To be content to be a pauper,

Make me softer,

God, You are my Father.
